What an amazing 2017 Spring AAU banquet!! Words will never be able to explain how blessed I am for his program! 3 teams to over 30 in five years. This game has given me so much in this life from new friends, family, experiences, and opportunities in multiple states and countries. Now it has allowed me to coach side by side unbelievable coaches and some of my best friends and then to coach all of our athletes and help youth/hs/college basketball players develop on and off the court. Special thanks to our amazing guest speaker coach Carrie Seymour! Carrie si the head coach for Pace University women's basketball. 25 years of experience over 430 wins, multiple coach of the year awards, and players on all rookie conference and academic teams all throughout her career in one of the top D2 conferences in the country. Thank you for being a mentor as I started out working your camps for several years during college summers and thank you for the amazing messages you sent tonight. Talking about work ethic, commitment, and validating what we do on the youth level with our break down drills, defense, and fundamentals. Athletes need to understand they're not above this! Everyone wants to scrimmage but the best teams and programs are breaking down skill work defense team concepts and fundamentals. Details and the little things!! College and pros are doing these same breakdown drills and that's how you develop!!! Thanks for the amazing stories from your own experiences and also showing athletes and parents what college coaches look at besides your skill and ability. The speech was truly inspiring and perfect.
Tonight we got to celebrate another phenomenal spring and enjoy time with our Extreme Hoops fam. From the guest speaker, to the winning shirt, to the slideshow, and to honoring some special seniors it was a great night! Now we're right back at it in summer practices, training camps, leagues, live period, and tournaments! To all the athletes who couldn't attend tonight your coaches have your shirts and will bring to summer practice/games. We love you guys!! More pics and banquet photos soon!
